POLICY SUPPORTS

Policy and Curriculum Supports

Policy shapes how we interact with one another, how we value and evaluate our work, and what we see as most important. We facilitate a process with communities to create resiliency-based, culturally relevant policies around health and wellness. These policies aim to promote wellness across all areas of a school, utilizing a Circle of Courage/Comprehensive School Health approach.

In 2015/16, Kainai Board of Education developed a Wellness Policy that includes staff wellness, nutrition, physical activity, mental health, addictions, and more. The KBE Policy is accompanied by a Handbook/Implementation Guide that includes clear guidelines for each Priority Area, as well as Rubrics to track progress.
