Increasing Movement During Classtime Across Subjects
It is well documented that students learn better as they move – focus is sharper, grades increase, negative behaviours decrease, and overall learning and retention is improved.
With this in mind, Ever Active Schools’ Phys Ed. Specialist worked with teachers at 4 First Nations schools to integrate physical literacy and movement into lesson plans across different subjects.
Partner teachers have developed novel lesson plans to teach phys. Ed, art, math, science, music, English and more through active games and creative teaching practices. This work also highlights the teachers’ innovative work, sharing lessons across subjects and schools in First Nations across the province.
